A Tale of Friendship

A little while ago I took a trip to the little village of Marple to see one of my oldest and best friends. We met when we were sixteen, whilst at college we studied textiles together for two years and bonded in our spare time over boys, fashion and Dawson’s Creek -how na├»ve we once were!
Despite living miles apart, our friendship has always stayed alive and I truly believe that real friendship never leaves you. We’ve seen each other through the best and the worst. Spending time with someone who knows what means the most to you in the whole world makes you believe not only in yourself, but in your dreams too. Sometimes you meet someone who you know is always going to be in your life. The girl who is going to be by your side on your wedding day.
I love you G and always will.

  3. N'awww that's such a cute picture of you Alice! Friendships can be tested in all sorts of ways but after so many years you know when you've got a true friend. Distance is one of those things that can put a strain on friendship too but you and your friend G don't seem to let that get in the way! I live far from my friends but when we're together it feels as if nothing has changed. I have 4 girlfriends whom I would class as my best and closest friends, my longest lasting friendship is with my good friend Hayley and we've been friends since we were 11 years old! Sara and I have a 11 year friendship and Erin and I have a 10 year friendship. I met Ellie during my first day at college and we've all bonded together to form one great big friendship ball of love! I miss them all so much when I'm not home visiting, especially since two of them now have children! ~♥~

  4. That's so lovely that you've keep your friendship going even though you're no longer in the same area. I've failed to keep in proper contact with my best friend from school and I do really regret it. x

  8. You do just know when you meet a friend for life. I lost touch with my best friend after my wedding, but following a gap of about 10 years we managed to reunite, we picked up right along where we left off. Beautiful picture of you and your friend. Linda xxx

  11. thank you for your lovely comments on my posts xx

I have a friend who I've known for over thirty years. We see each other about once every eighteen month, we never talk on the phone or write. We're friends on facebook but only write on each other's wall for birthdays and Christmas, occasionally liking post, then one day, when it's been too long we'll plan a meet up. A true friend xx

  12. precious! beautiful photo as well. i know what you mean, I had to leave my best friend for many years when I moved to the UK, not seeing each other for 4 years or seldom talk on the phone anymore doesnt ruin our friendship, it makes it special coz we miss each other more and always look forward when we can chat (due to time difference etc) or sometimes video chat!

  13. I love posts like these <3 I think a sign of a great friendship is when you don't see that person for a while, but when you meet up, it feels like you saw them only yesterday xx
