Bag Lady

I couldn’t quite resist this St Michael shopping bag, its retro appeal and quirky print had me sold right from the start.

For weeks now I have spied people carrying these bags out and about and at my local supermarket and every time I have simply wondered where they have got them from.
I don’t know what it is about the cult of the shopping bag in the UK, just like the infamous Anya Hindmarch version which caused mayhem on our high streets a few years ago. We all love to shop, and we all love a shopping bag to confirm it.

It was when in Marks & Spencer I finally tracked down my sought after shopper. At 75p how could I say no to such a delightful design. If it means using less plastic bags and re-using our shoppers, then surely this can only be a good thing for the environment.

  9. I have seen a few of these out and about too! Wasn't St Michael the old M&S brand label for everything they sold back in the late 20s until they got rid of the name? I think it wasn't too too long ago they got rid of it either which is weird because I don't recall any of it! I would have been too young to pay any attention to these things though and I don't think my mum shopped there that often!

We have some bags for life that we always take shopping with us! Plastic bags should be completely phased out by now in my opinion! ~♥~

  11. We have millions of jute bags in our house (ok slight exaggeration but definitely in the high teens) but I am still suckered into buying cute new ones. M&S do a gorgeous carrot print one too.
