You probably have realised by now I love collecting anything nostalgic, natty and ultimately a collectable in its own right.
I seem to have acquired a few of these tins now. I like storing things away in them, whilst spreading a little bit of nostalgia spirit along the way.
This is my 20p butterfly find which I am still completely in love with, and the second one is actually a new tin made to look ‘old.’ I don’t really go for things like this, but I really liked the postcard esque design.
My Mickey Mouse paint box. I found this in a charity shop for 50p. I admit I love Mickey and all things Disney concerned and I think the design is really sweet. Plus there’s the added quirk that this has used paints inside.
This Turtles tin was my brothers from childhood. I sneakily have hung on to it. It’s quirky and is from 1989.
The Boots pastilles tin is from an antique junk shop type place. It cost me £1. I had a bit of a fascination with these a while ago, and was on the hunt for all the old Cadbury/Quality Street tins, but never got round to it. I constantly see them pop up on eBay though.
This is a St Michael face shaper kit my mum gave me. I don’t use it, but I love the design on the front. It’s from 1982, when my mum was in her late 20s. I don’t think I could ever part with this.
As the saying goes… 'one mans tat is another ones treasure'♥
