Paradise.

I’m back from my holiday. And thought appropriate to do a little post, to accompany a few memories I may just treasure forever♥

Destination: Los Cristianos, Tenerife

Pool-side reading:

I didn’t want to take a heavy read with me, so I just took this copy of Truman Capotes Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I got it for 20p from the flea market a while ago and have been meaning to read it for a while now. Truth to be told, I actually thought it was very similar to the film; this is coming from someone who has seen Breakfast at Tiffany’s a countless amount of times.
It was nice to finally read the original though; the ending however was different to the film. And almost brought a tear to my eye.
I also indulged in Cosmopolitan and InStyle, the article with Gwen Stefani is my favourite obviously.

Food & Drink:

I love eating out. And holidays are totally the time to indulge in good food. From Chinese buffets to Italians.
And OMG look at these amazing boot glasses. I so wanted to bring one of these home with me.

My boyfriend also thought it was by far hilarious when I had to drink from a tankard. (I hate drinking out of pint glasses/tankards)

Sight-seeing:

Los Cristianos is actually quite a small place; we stayed around the town most days. However coming up to the weekend we decided to have a trip out. We hired a car which was a little scary on the passenger that was me, but went on a quite phenomenal trip to the mountains!...eee.
It was pretty breathtaking, to be that high up. We drove through the clouds on the way up. Once we arrived, we then got the cable car to the del tiede, the highest peak in Spain.

Souvenirs:

I totally failed on spoiling myself rotten on the duty free. I guess I just wasn’t in the mood to shop. No holiday is complete without a few souvenirs though.
We got this pot cat from a small ceramic shop off the beach, I love it. We bought my Mum one too, because I know she will love it.

And because I am a child in the airport and couldn’t resist a plastic Hello Kitty figurine, I came home with this. I love collecting these. And the candy inside tastes EXACTLY like the gum in the bottom of screwball ice creams.

It was a lovely holiday, and just a nice time to get away and relax.
Here are a few more pictures:

P.S I will be catching up with all your blogs very soon :)x

  1. welcome back, lovely! ohh, it seems like you had a fabulous time, the boot glasses look amazing! what wonderful photographs :)

i got the book of breakfast at tiffany's for christmas. i also think the film is very similar, some scenes are practically identical! i definately prefer the film though, what about you? did you know that truman capote originally wanted marilyn to play holly? he had her in mind when he wrote the book, hence holly having blonde hair. audrey hepburn was just so perfect for this role, though. did you see the theatre adaptation with anna friel last year?

    love, jazzabelle. xxx
