Dame, really?

When I first heard about this I was in shock, so when I saw the actual products face to face in my MAC store the other day, I was pretty puzzled to say the least. I’m not a MAC fanatic (yet) but I will say this, they certainly have something going on. The Fafi collection out earlier this year was possibly one of the most exciting things I have ever seen. There back catalogue is also very impressive, Playboy, Heatherette, Manish Arora and not forgetting Barbie Loves Mac ♥

And I hear a Hello Kitty one is just around the corner. So I think whoever chooses the themes and designers has pretty good taste. Well until now. Maybe I’m just anti Dame Edna. But not only is she old and wrinkly, she is infact ….A MAN.
Don’t get me wrong I don’t have anything against Barry Humphries or MAC but it all seems a little bizarre.

MAC + Dame Edna

= Disaster (On the promotional flyer it says ‘our muse’ I just find it odd to be inspired by a drag queen. Conclusion - Cheap and Nasty

= Genius (The packaging is kitsch to the most extreme level and the shades are pretty quirky) Conclusion - Bold and Beautiful

Either way I know it’s got me intrigued for sure.

So I caught this film the other week on tv, Failure To Launch, and to be fair I was less than impressed. I think it’s hard watching Ms Parker not as Carrie. Cos to me personally Sarah Jessica is Carrie.

Anyhow I had heard about this girl Zooey Deschanel, but I didn’t really know much, so to my surprise she was in this film. I must admit she certainly kept me interested, I could tell from her character she was a little kooky. I’ve since had a browse online and I must admit I’m quite in awe of her vintage meets modern day look. Also it’s nice to see a brunette girl, usually I spend forever dreaming of peroxide.

I’m thinking she could be something pretty special. She even has ‘chanel’ in her name.

Twilight Movie

It’s official; Twilight is my favourite movie of 2008. (Sex And The City Movie a close second)

I will say one thing though; having read the book it is a little strange to see characters and settings a little different to how I personally imagined them. The bending of storylines and missing parts out could disappoint the die-hard Twilight fans, but one thing is for sure, something special was defiantly captured on film.

Whether it is the exquisite casting of Robert Pattinson as Edward, or the whole presence of the Cullen family playing a game of baseball, with Supermassive Black Hole blasting out in the background. This movie has a lasting effect; it’s a real gem and will never get old. I think the thing that touches me the most is how gentle, considerate and charming Edward is. He worships Bella, the fact that he is a vampire is almost irrelevant, the fact that he loves her unconditionally is everything.

This film makes me believe, not in vampires, but in love. And that is a very rare thing I find myself saying, and will probably not say again, unless proven otherwise ♥
